Jamie Juan Rogers was born in Puerta Rico, where he studied to become a dancer. His first acting role was playing Loco one of the Shark gang members on the 1961 film version of West Side Story.
Jamie would then be a regular dancer on the Sonny and Cher show, where he also took on the role of Choreographer. He would also work as a choreographer on other TV shows like: The Andy Williams Show, The Dean Martin Show and The Elvis Presley Comeback show. He was nominated for an Emmy for for Outstanding Choreography for "Mary's Incredible Dream".
He would continue choreography shows like Gimme A Break, Moonlighting and Mike Hammer through to the late 80s.
In 1985 Jaime became the Choreographer on Fame for 48 episodes in Seasons 5 and 6.
Since the 90s Jaime has moved into teaching dance.
In 2006 he was honoured with the Lester Horton Dance Award for his dancing, teaching and Choreography.
Jaime died on 4th January 2024.
