Fame News - July 2023



40 years ago in July 1983 The cast and crew were preparing for the Shows 3rd Season. The green light had been given, contracts were signed and scripts were being written ready for production to start the following month.   

The Kids From Fame Live At The Royal Albert Hall video which had been released in the UK. in June spent the month in the Top 5 video cassette releases chart.

The cast continued to appear in UK Teen Press: My Guy, Blue Jeans and Tops. 

Season 2 continued to be Broadcast by the BBC in the U.K. with the first screenings of "Homecoming", "A Tough Act To Follow", "Relationships" and "Star Quality"

"Body Language" appears on the U.K. Singles chart for a final time marking the Kids last appearance on the UK Singles chart.  

Publicity for a new Kids From Fame Album and the Body Language resultied in the previous albums returning to the Lower end of the UK Album charts. The Kids From Fame Again makes it's final appearance on the Chart on 30th July.

Kids From Fame Media is now on TikTok



Lori Singer will be appearing at a Q&A for the L.A Premier of her film "Rachel Hendrix" on Saturday July 8th at the American Cinematheque at Los Feliz Theatre 1822 N Vermont Ave, L.A. C.A  90027. Film starts at 7.00pm with Q&A after words.  





In associate with her Triple Threat  Academy Cynthia Gibb has directed and co produced a short film Titled "Lux Freer, which was screened at at the Dances with Films Festival at the Chinese Threatres last month. Cynthia won the 2023 Best New Director at New York Cinematography Awards for the short.


Lux Freer, a non-binary teen, has recently moved to ritzy Westport, where they have the humiliating job of delivering pizzas. Nothing could be worse than arriving at aspiring prom queen Arabella Astor’s mansion wearing a cap emblazoned with pepperonis. Lux’s encounter with the bully Arabella and her beau Drew sets in motion a plot to upend the social stratosphere at Westport Academy. A mysterious wishing well adds to Lux’s world morphing into a place of possibility rather than rejection. At the school talent show, Lux is emboldened as their fantasy comes true, and even the most macho jock in town learns something about tolerance. 

Olivia Barash is now on Cameo and can be booked for personal messages. Eric Pierpoint and Valerie Landsburg are also currently on Cameo.




Brown Bag Entertainment is selling signed DVDs of Jesse Borrego's movie Blood In, Blood Out.





Michael Cerveris' band Loose Cattle will perform on July 23rd at The Washington Square Hotel. Presented by Village Nights and hosted by Richard Barone.




Debbie Allen appeared last month for a Q&A discussing the latest play she is directing: "Fetch Clay, Make Man". Which is at the the Kirk Douglas Theatre, Washington Boulevard, Culver City California until July 16th.
