Eric Pierpoint
Eric Pierpoint was born on 18th
November 1950. Eric is born under the star sign Scorpio, who have been
described as honest, generous and genuinely compassionate.
Eric was raised by his Mother Patricia
Adams Pierpoint and Stepdad Robert Pierpoint who was a former CBS news White
House correspondent, in Redlands, California until he was 9. The middle of 3
children the family relocated to Washington in 1959.
Eric graduated from Walt Whitman High
School in Bethesda, Maryland in 1969 and was on the wrestling, soccer, and
tennis teams. . He spent time
accompanying his stepfather on news assignments during his teen years, often
meeting high ranking US Government officials.
He then attended the University of
Redlands in Redlands, California, majoring in philosophy and receiving his
Bachelor's Degree in 1973. He was captain of the soccer team, and took his
first drama course as a senior and began his pursuit of acting after graduation.
Later he attended The Catholic
University of America in Washington, D.C., where he received his Master's
Degree in Fine Arts.
In 1984 Eric landing his first role
in the film Windy City. Then later that year, he was cast in his first lead
role in the short-lived television series Hot Pursuit, which was produced by
Kenneth Johnson. Here he first came to
the attention of Fame’s Executive Producers Renee and Harry Longstreet.
Having married his High School
sweetheart Linda, in 1969 the couple divorced in 1985.
Eric guest starred on 3 episodes of
Hill Street Blues and appeared in the 1986 movie Invaders from Mars. Then later
in 1986 the Longstreet’s cast him as new drama teacher Paul Seeger in the 6th
season of “Fame”, where Eric appeared in 15 episodes.
After Fame Eric appeared in American TV
shows like “beauty and the Beast”, “In The Heat of the Night” and “Heartlands”.
Then in 1989, he was again cast by
Kenneth Johnson as a lead in another TV series, the television adaption of the
1988 film Alien Nation, where he took over the role of Detective Samuel
"George" Francisco starring opposite Gary Graham. The series, though
very popular among fans, was cancelled after one season. Although five
subsequent Alien Nation TV movies from 1993 to 1997.
Eric starred in five separate guest roles on
all four Star Trek series spin off series and appeared in the 1997 film Liar,
Liar.
Eric is a regular guest star on numerous
TV shows like: “Murder She Wrote”, “E.R.”, “Silk Stalkings”, “Ally McBeal”, “Babylon 5”, “Brothers
and Sisters”, “Hart of Dixie” and “Parks and Recreation”, to name just a few.
In addition to numerous roles on
television and film, Eric has been active in theatre, starring in many plays
throughout his career, including The Lion In Winter for the Ensemble Theatre
Company, .
In 2013 Eric wrote and published His
children's novel, “The Last Ride Of Caleb O'Toole”, which received the 2013
Reading the West Book Award. He followed it up with his second novel “The
Secret Mission of William Tuck” and spends time reading his work to middle
school children in an educational book tour, he also teaches guest master
classes in acting at various universities.
Eric currently resides in Topanga,
California and has been active in the Big Brothers of Greater Los Angeles for a
number of years.
