This year The Kids from Fame celebrate their 35th Anniversary. To mark this momentous occasion, Ger Onlus is hoping to organize A Kids from Fame Reunion concert in Italy, on December the 2nd. Our much loved characters from the TV series will perform live together on stage of Teatro Nuovo of Salsomaggiore Terme. A very special occasion for 2017.
The Kids from Fame inspired millions of people across the globe to follow their artistic dreams. But Fame was beyond singing, dancing and performing. Its iconic characters taught us to believe in ourselves, the value of friendship, the importance of teamwork, diversity and inclusiveness despite any different cultural background, fame and success comes as the result of sacrifice, hard work, commitment and dedication … “You’ve got big dreams. You want fame. Well fame costs and right here is where you start paying: in sweat”- Mrs. Lydia Grant played by Debbie Allen.
Fame has always been more than just a TV show. Fame is a hugely powerful and emotional machine where the Kids from Fame are the engines, its driving force, inspiring us to follow our dreams and igniting of passion for what we truly love and who we want to be. Many of us have been inspired by the shows characters: Coco Hernandez (Erica Gimpel), Doris Schwartz (Valerie Landsburg), Danny Amatullo (Carlo Imperato), Nicole Chapman (Nia Peeples), Bruno Martelli (Lee Curreri), Lydia Grant (Debbie Allen), Holly Laird (Cynthia Gibb) and Jesse Velasquez (Jesse Borrego).
Thanks to your contribution, on December 2nd our favorite characters will be on the same stage for an unforgettable show of singing and dancing and acting. This will be a unique opportunity to head back to the High-School of Performing Arts: relive our favorite songs with our beloved characters This concert will be pure energy, passion, charisma and the same intense gift to be moved; their immense talent for sharing feelings and touching the audience.
Ger Onlus is a registered Italian voluntary association and charity whose aim is to take care of abandoned children in Columbia.
Our deep commitment since 2019, has been following the project “Ger Children L’Albero”. The project goal is to host and give some protection to street children coming from Comuna 13 of Medellin (Colombia).
This area is poverty-stricken and, with poverty, the most probable options for these kids are prostitution and street gangs enrollment. Ger Onlus, with the constant help of local operators and the reliable support of Giuseppe Sartori, hosts in its organization children aged 5 to 16 years old. The goal is to rescue them from street dangers and provide them with an opportunity for education, housing and care so that to somehow heal their inner scars due to a life made of violence and neglect.
At the moment, the Association hosts 45 kids. However, there are more than one hundred requests still pending.
All the profits coming from Fame Reunion 2017 and related crowd funding campaign will be invested to host and rescue other 10 children in the house.
From 2011, Ger Onlus has been cooperating with Kids from Fame actors to raise awareness on abandoned children in Colombia and organize charity events which funds were addressed to local projects.

The idea is to celebrate and highlight Fame and its unique main characters but, at the same time, support an ambitious charity purpose. Not least because Fame and the ones who believe in its message could, once again, have an impact that is not just emotional but also real and tangible that will change, or at least improve, the life of 45 abandoned children living in a group-home in Colombia.
Our goal is to raise as much money as possible and donate the proceeds from the concert to help these underprivileged children. This is a tough and challenging task and we would really appreciate enormous support from you the, followers and fans of The Kids from Fame. To help us reach our goal, Ger Onlus is going to create and manage this Crowd funding campaign.
