Fame For Kids 2017 Reunion - Hope

"Hope" was one of the things that "Fame" gifted to me back when it all started in 1982. Yes there was the energy and excitement of the dance and the music but what has stayed with me all these years and helped me through tough times was the "Hope" it gave me.

For a lonely teenager "lost on a winding road" without "Hope" life can seem pretty awful. Without that "Hope" I'm not sure I'd even be here today. "Fame" showed me "that just to live was the greatest gift of all."

#Fameforkids2017 Reunion Concert for the #Fame35 anniversary can now give "Hope" to other lost and lonely children. Children who's circumstances are far worse than most of us have experienced in our lives.

Everyone deserves a chance, everyone needs some "Hope" in their lives. Ger Onlus, needs our help to bring a little "Hope" for the children in Colombia. Pledge now to get your tickets to experience the "Fame" dream for real but even if you can't attend please donate to support "Fame" and give something back to a show and a cast that has given us all so much over the last 35 years and help "Fame" continue to give it's "Hope" and magic to others.

GRANDE SHOW LIVE

I PROTAGONISTI

Pagina Ger Onlus Facebook

Hello Beautiful People,

A few years ago Nia Peeples Virenia Peeples reached out inviting me to participate in a Fame Reunion concert in Italy benefiting children in Columbia. Not knowing who was producing the concert, but trusting Nia, I decided to attend and I am so glad I did.

Stefano Mendognii (our visionary and producer) has the biggest and most beautiful heart… a heart motivated by love. Stefano has moved me to tears when speaking about how deeply committed he is to he...lping the children of Columbia have access to great education and be in a nurturing environment so they can blossom and grow. Being a part of these last two concerts has been a joy, singing the songs from Fame, and reuniting with our cast has been fun and healing. And it has also given me the opportunity to give on a deeply personal level to my dear mother. Having her travel with me, and getting to celebrate her on stage with the song I wrote in her honor LOVE STAYS, will always be a cherished moment in my life.

So here we are, gearing up for another concert in December and this time we are celebrating Fame’s 35th Anniversary!
This time we are joining forces with YOU to make this concert a reality. Thank you in advance to everyone who is willing to participate… We will be seeing you soon. Peace, Erica

Fame For Kids 2017 Reunion - Update

One week ago the Fame reunion 2017 Crowd Funding Event was launched.  For the first couple of days things moved very fast with the top packages selling out pretty quickly by the end of day 1 the show was 50% funded.

After a slow weekend where things moved very slowly the last couple of days have seen an increase in Pledges. We are now 85% funded having just gone over 17,000.00 Euros pledged.

There is currently only one 500 Euro package and one 130 Euro package left. (I believe 2 of the 130 packages were returned so the buyer could go for the 500 Package instead.

However lots of tickets at 30, 40, 50 and 60 Euros left.

So Keep pledging. https://www.eppela.com/en/projects/12918-fame-reunion-2017

There is still a long way to go less than 3000 Euros and the show definitely goes ahead. If we don't reach the 20,000 target then there will be no show.

As well as pledging for tickets, if you can't attend you can also just give a donation to help Ger Onlus to help the abandoned and homeless children in Columbia.

If Fame has every helped you or inspired you, you can give back to help the cast, help the charity, to help the children.  Just 5 Euros and you can be part of the event.

Dreams can come true and we can all help make them come true.

Nia Peeples on the Fame for Kids 2017 Reunion

Nia Peeples posted on Facebook about the Fame for Kids 2017 Reunion

"Do you ever just stop mid step and realize how amazing some of your friends are? You go through your day just loving them but then this moment hits you with, "T...hey're incredible people!" Well I had another moment like that about my friends in Italy who take me and mine in like family. They feed and house us. They drive to France to join us for a film festival.

They raised my daughter for a year when she wanted to attend school in there. They are some of the most loving people I have ever known. And as if that's not enough, they created a non profit organization to help educate, house and feed orphans in Columbia and India. And they're at it again with another FAME concert!

If you're at all inspired to be apart of this energy of love, click on the link and let's make this happen!

Hope to see you there!

we need double what's listed so let's do it!

Fame For Kids 2017 Reunion Information

This year The Kids from Fame celebrate their 35th Anniversary. To mark this momentous occasion, Ger Onlus is hoping to organize A Kids from Fame Reunion concert in Italy, on December the 2nd. Our much loved characters from the TV series will perform live together on stage of Teatro Nuovo of Salsomaggiore Terme. A very special occasion for 2017.

The Kids from Fame inspired millions of people across the globe to follow their artistic dreams. But Fame was beyond singing, dancing and performing. Its iconic characters taught us to believe in ourselves, the value of friendship, the importance of teamwork, diversity and inclusiveness despite any different cultural background, fame and success comes as the result of sacrifice, hard work, commitment and dedication … “You’ve got big dreams. You want fame. Well fame costs and right here is where you start paying: in sweat”- Mrs. Lydia Grant played by Debbie Allen.

Fame has always been more than just a TV show. Fame is a hugely powerful and emotional machine where the Kids from Fame are the engines, its driving force, inspiring us to follow our dreams and igniting of passion for what we truly love and who we want to be. Many of us have been inspired by the shows characters: Coco Hernandez (Erica Gimpel), Doris Schwartz (Valerie Landsburg), Danny Amatullo (Carlo Imperato), Nicole Chapman (Nia Peeples), Bruno Martelli (Lee Curreri), Lydia Grant (Debbie Allen), Holly Laird (Cynthia Gibb) and Jesse Velasquez (Jesse Borrego).

Thanks to your contribution, on December 2nd our favorite characters will be on the same stage for an unforgettable show of singing and dancing and acting. This will be a unique opportunity to head back to the High-School of Performing Arts: relive our favorite songs with our beloved characters This concert will be pure energy, passion, charisma and the same intense gift to be moved; their immense talent for sharing feelings and touching the audience.

Ger Onlus is a registered Italian voluntary association and charity whose aim is to take care of abandoned children in Columbia.
Our deep commitment since 2019, has been following the project “Ger Children L’Albero”. The project goal is to host and give some protection to street children coming from Comuna 13 of Medellin (Colombia).

This area is poverty-stricken and, with poverty, the most probable options for these kids are prostitution and street gangs enrollment. Ger Onlus, with the constant help of local operators and the reliable support of Giuseppe Sartori, hosts in its organization children aged 5 to 16 years old. The goal is to rescue them from street dangers and provide them with an opportunity for education, housing and care so that to somehow heal their inner scars due to a life made of violence and neglect.
At the moment, the Association hosts 45 kids. However, there are more than one hundred requests still pending.

All the profits coming from Fame Reunion 2017 and related crowd funding campaign will be invested to host and rescue other 10 children in the house.
From 2011, Ger Onlus has been cooperating with Kids from Fame actors to raise awareness on abandoned children in Colombia and organize charity events which funds were addressed to local projects.

The idea is to celebrate and highlight Fame and its unique main characters but, at the same time, support an ambitious charity purpose. Not least because Fame and the ones who believe in its message could, once again, have an impact that is not just emotional but also real and tangible that will change, or at least improve, the life of 45 abandoned children living in a group-home in Colombia.

Our goal is to raise as much money as possible and donate the proceeds from the concert to help these underprivileged children. This is a tough and challenging task and we would really appreciate enormous support from you the, followers and fans of The Kids from Fame. To help us reach our goal, Ger Onlus is going to create and manage this Crowd funding campaign.
