I can’t believe I did not know this.
“Ebenezer Morloch” was the last appearance of Ken Swofford on the show. It was revealed in Michael A. Hoey's 2010 book "Inside Fame on Television - A behind-the-Scenes History" that Swofford had become increasingly resentful towards executive producers Patricia Jones and Donald Reiker and the direction they were taking the show in. The Christmas episode was the last straw for him and after the last scene was filmed Ken ordered the camera to keep rolling where he proceeded to strongly voice his less than favorable opinion of the producers. Apart from the cast and crew present and the film editor no one saw this footage as it was handed over to MGM's lawyers and Ken was immediately released from his contract. His character was replaced by a new principal, Mr. Dyrenforth, played by Graham Jarvis.
