In June Kids From Fame Media posts will be Celebrating:
The latest short film by Cynthia Gibb's Triple Threat Academy is titled "Straight Laced". Cynthia has once again directed the film.
"When a conscientious honors student buckles under the academic pressure in her town of overachievers and over earnest parents, she makes a choice that leaves everyone in her life rethinking whether getting into the "right" college matters at all."
Here's the Trailer.
"One of the wonderful
gifts of being a mother is its ability to expand one’s appreciation for her
own. (mother, that is) I was standing in the kitchen with my 26 year old
daughter. We were laughing at something she said about me because it was so
true. And she said, “Well, I’ve known
you my whole life!” Then she stopped and thought about it and said, “You know,
it’s odd to think that I’ve known you my whole life but you’ve only known me
for a portion of yours.” I stood quietly to let that sink in for her. How much
life happened to me, with me, because of me in the decades before she existed?
How did they shape me and how much have I been willing to share let alone able
to even identify, so hidden are many of our childhood traumas. As a mother who absolutely loves being a mom,
I am always thinking about my children: how to support them, build them
up, protect them. If the stories of my
life don’t do that, why share? I thought about my mom. Looking back at the
photos of her life, recalling the stories she’s shared, I realize there’s more
mystery than anything. Though she has shared much about the goings on and the
circumstances, how much can I really know? What events was she unwilling to
share in order to protect me and give me a better start at life than she had?
And knowing how independent and strong she is, how much is she still quietly
working through on her own? Just something to think about...
HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY
to all you amazing moms.
I LOVE YOU MOM!"
