"I Know I Wondered Far From Love,

And Arms That Held Me Tight.

But Precious Moments Call Me Back,

To When You Were in My Life.

I'm Sorry If I Turned Away,

And Left You Feeling Cold.

Suspicious Got The Best Of Me.

Dancing In The Wings - Debbie Allen - Song of the Week

"Dancing In The Wings" is a mid tempo show tune.  Written by Andrew Tex Allen, who is Debbie Allen's Brother in 1984.

In "Fame" it appears  in the Season 4 episode "The Rivalry", where it is performed by Debbie Allen at the end of the episode, where Lydia auditions for a Broadway show.

Dancing In The Wings is also the title of a Debbie Allen TV Special which aired in September 1985 in America, featuring many of the Fame dancers.  The Song appears at the opening and closing of the TV special.

So far the song has never appeared on a Fame Album or performed in a Fame Concert.

TV Special Performance:

I've been dancing in the wings
Learning life through many things
Dancing is the way I love my life
In this crazy world we're living in

As time goes on and on
Each stage is waiting for something said through
Dancin', dancin', dancin', dancin', dancin'

The steps come one by one
Then Some by Some
And soon you're light on your feet
Feeling all up the beat
And you know choreography

You wear a smile that gleams
Your soul is singing out
You're dancin', dancin', dancin', dancin', dancin'
