Fame News April 2023

 

40 years ago back in April 1983 The Fame Cast were completing their 2nd U.K. tour before moving of the The Netherlands, Belgium and Israel to play concerts.

Whilst in the U.K. the cast appeared on Top of the Pops and were interviewed for lots of British Magazines.  April 1983 is the most prolific period for U.K. magazine and Newspaper articles.  

The sticker book was released and the BBC Broadcast the Fame concert from the Royal Albert Hall in a 2 part special over the Easter Weekend.

The live single "Friday Night" started to climb the charts each week and was at number 17 by the end of the month.

The Kids From Fame Live Album reached it's peak position of Number 8 on 16th April and both the Kids From Fame and Kids From Fame Again albums re-entered the album charts during this month.

The cast also graced the cover of Radio Times to announce that Season 2 would finally start being broadcast on 21st April. A special promo featuring Debbie, Lee and Lori was broadcast.

Fame U.K. Are currently holding a silent auction for a unique piece of mixed media art by Josephine Boni, who has donated the Fame piece for auction.  These paintings usually retail for 5000 Euros.

They are asking for serious bid with nothing below £500.

Lori Singer has been receiving great reviews for her latest movie "Rachel Hendrix".

Valerie Landsburg has recently under gone a tummy tuck procedure and has been talking about her journey on Instagram. 

Loretta Chandler will be teaching acting workshops in Douglasville in May 2023.

In the 80s when PRP Paul was on Fame he was also in a band called "Raw Meat" and went under the name of "Chuck Roast".  PR Recently posted on Instagram a pi8cture of him reuniting with his Raw Meat bandmates and mentioned new music.

Paul also recently posted about his new cancer diagnosis and the bike ride he's done in support of the cancer Community.

"Joy & I are doing a 26 mile bike ride in support of the Cancer community on April 1st. Having survived cancer once and now having a second diagnosis of CLL a form of leukemia (stage 0 right now) this cause is close to my heart. It helps people affected with cancer with their well being at no cost. Thanks for listening and your donation."

After the huge success of the Janet Documentary last year. Janet Jackson has once again teamed up with A&E/Lifetime for a second documentary. Titled "Janet Jackson Family Matter" this time cameras will follow her as she gears up for "Together Again" tour this year and to reunite the Family band after 40 years since their last performance together. Janet's Together Again tour starts this month on April 14th in Florida.
