Looking Back 40 years to March 1983 Lori, Debbie, Carlo, Geen, Lee and the Fame dancers were arriving in the U.K. to embark on their 2nd Tour. They appeared on the Russell Harty Show special filmed from rehearsals at the Blackpool Opera House.
The Live Single "Friday Night" sung by Carlo Imperato entered the U.K. charts at Number 97 and initially struggled to climb any higher than 87 before it started going down.
The Kids From Fame Live album reached number 29 this month on the U.K. album charts and then that too began to drop going down to number 82 by the end of the month. The fortunes of both the single and album would change dramatically in April but we'll cover that next month.
The cast were popular in the British media with covers and articles in Patches, Look In, TV Tops, Oh Boy, Loving and Jackie. The newspapers were also printing stories about the cast pretty much on a Daily Basis. Much was made about Valerie Landsburg and Erica Gimpel not being part of the tour.

The online Audience with Valerie Landsburg took place on Sunday 12th February, where Val spent 2 hours talking about her life and answering questions from fans. She also performed a new song written after her Mother died.
Lori Singer's latest movie was released last month, premiering at the Santa Barbara International film festival. Titled Rachel Hendrix it tells the story of a creative writing professor who experiences a relapse of grief one year after the death of her husband.
A trailer for the new Karen Carpenter documentary "Starving For Perfection" which features Cynthia Gibb has been released. The Premiere took place last month at the Santa Barbara Film Festival after the event Cynthia said: "Spent an emotional night with Randy Schmidt, Lee Norman, Donnie Demers, Paul Rosenbaum, Joy Rosenbaum at the Santa Barbara Film Festival last night seeing the Karen Carpenter documentary. This story hasn’t been told before. I wonder what KC would have created if she were still here. What a loss for us all. "
In 1984 Satu Pentikäinen from Finland
recorded "I Still Believe In me" for her album "Ota Tai
Jätä".
The song was recorded in Finish and the title is "Tahdon Luottaa" also featured on a 1984 double A side single.
