Debbie Allen's Top Ten Albums!

The follow article comes from Sunday Express from 25tth October 2009 where Debbie picks her favourite 6 albums:

DEBBIE Allen, 59, starred as Lydia Grant in the hit Eighties’ TV series Fame. She’s currently directing Cat On A Hot Tin Roof, which opens at the Novello Theatre on December 1

Mariah Carey: Butterfly (Columbia)I think Mariah is one of the songbirds of this millennium and the music on this album is truly inspirational. Whenever I hear it I just want to dance.

Michael Jackson: Thriller (Epic)This was a landmark album and perhaps Jackson’s artistic high watermark. When it came out Jackson defined the world of pop music for me. Every track is a winner. A classic.

Various Artists: West Side Story [Soundtrack] (Sony Classical)This features some of the greatest music ever. I listen to it over and over and never tire of it. A fabulous musical. Try to get the original Broadway cast recording.

Miles Davis: Sketches of Spain [50th Anniversary Edition] (Sony Legacy)I grew up in a household where jazz was revered above all other forms of music. Davis was not only a giant in the jazz world but in this he made an absolutely wonderful album. Every home should have a copy.

Robin Thicke:The Evolutionof Robin Thicke (Indigo)This guy came out of nowhere and his first album is amazing. The song I particularly love is Lost Without U, a massive hit Stateside a couple of years ago. This is contemporary R&B at its best.

Stevie Wonder: Songs in the Key of Life (Universal/Island)I got into Stevie’s music at school and have been a fan ever since. As far as I’m concerned he’s the master composer. He’s cut a string of classic records but this is his masterpiece. It’s touched me as a woman.

Cythnia Gibb Message and Official Website

Cynthia Gibb is launching her offical website and has left the following message for fans. With thanks to Jessica for the information.

Dear Friends and Visitors,
This year marks my 30th year working in the entertainment industry. The recent realization of this as well as the growth of my three beautiful children have humbled and awed me of late. With the passing of Patrick Swayze, with whom I was honored to work many years ago, along with my eldest starting college this fall, I have begun to retrace the steps of my life and quietly observe how I got to where I am today.
I am aware of how abundant the blessing have been in my life, not the least of which has been to chase my dreams and make them realities. My children and my career both fall into this category. The incredible people, places and experiences that my work and family have afforded me are too many to list here, but suffice it to say that they have all colored who I am today, for which I am so grateful.

I have begun to build this website as a place where I can bring all of my life experiences together and paint a portrait that represents where I have been, in hope to understand better where I am going. The journey continues to amaze and thrill me, frighten and unnerve me. I share this with you and look forward to hear about your own journeys once my site is fully up and running. Until then, may your lives be full of love, light and good health.

- Cynthia
