Funny Turn - Fame Annual Story

Somebody Must Be Grinning Down On Me - Gene Anthony Ray - Song Of The Month

"Somebody Must Be Grinning Down On Me" was originally a Christmas pop song, which with a slight change of lyrics was adapted to use on "Fame". Written by David Pomeranz in 1984 it is featured in the Season 4 episodes "Blizzard" and "School is Out".  Performed by Gene Anthony Ray, we see Leroy Dancing with a snowman!

The original Christmas version was performed by the song writer David Pomeranz, although it was released until 2000 when it appeared on  on his album "Eyes of Christmas"

The song has never been featured on a Fame album or performed in any of the Fame concerts.

"Do Do Do Do, Do Do Do Do Do,
Do Do Do Do, Do Do Do Do.
 Hello, I'm Leroy Johnson.
Yeah I'm Here To Audition For You.
Hey, Mr Snowman, Check This Out.

I Feel A Fancy Tingle Down To My Toes,
And With Every Step It Grows and it Grows.
I'm Oh So Happy Well I Just Know,
Somebody Must Be Grinning Down On Me.

The Winter Wind Is Blowing Snow Through My Hair,
I'm Cold And I'm Wet But I Don't Care.
I Feel So Sunny Today I Swear,
Somebody Must Be Grinning Down On Me.

Let The Clouds Go By,
Gonna Let My Spirit Fly
I'm Such a Lucky Guy.
The Whole World Is Fine,
Watch Me Shine.

It's Time To Tell Them All Who's Around
I Gonna Walk In An Tear Up The Town.
Because There's So Much That I Was Born To Be.
Somebody Must Be Grinning Down On Me.

Do Do Do Do, Do Do Do Do,
Do Do Do Do, Do Do Do Do Do Do Do Do Do Do.

Well All My cash Has Slipped Away,
I've Got A Stack Of Bills To Pay.
On This Sweet Holiday,
There's No One Who Could Be As Rich As Me.

It's Time To Tell Them All Who's Around
I Gonna Walk In An Tear Up The Town.
Because There's So Much That I Was Born To Be, Yeah.
Somebody Must Be Grinning Down.
Flashing A Smile All Over Town,
Somebody Must Be Grinning Down On Me.

Yeah eh Yeah!"
