"The Kids From Fame Sing For You" was the fifth
and final album to be released by the cast of the U.S. TV series
"FAME". It was released in the U.K. on LP (KIDLP 005) and Cassette
(KIDK 005) in August 1983, licensed to BBC records from RCA music. It entered
the U.K. charts at number 36 on 20th August 1983 and climbed to number 28 two
weeks later on 3rd September, which was it's highest position. Over the course
of the 2 months it spent 7 weeks on the
U.K. charts.
The album was produced by Barry Fasman for The Entertainment
Company. Executive producers were Charles Koppelman & Martin Bandier. Lead Vocals were by Lee Curreri, Erica Gimpel, Carlo Imperato, Valerie Landsburg, Gene
Anthony Ray, Lori Singer, Greg Evigan and The Waters. No Singles were released
from this album in the U.K which added to it's poor chart performance. BBC
Records then decided that the Fame Bubble had burst and stopped releasing any
further records from the show.
