Trivia of the Week - Loretta Chandler on Natural Woman

Loretta Chandler stated that growing up she wasn't very aware of Aretha Franklin and her version of "Natural Woman"'. So interpreted the song in her own way when it was filmed for the Season 5 episode "Selling Out". When the producers heard it they commented "Oh you're doing it like that!" which concerned her that it wasn't what they wanted.

The Loser Gets To Win - Carlo Imperato & Cynthia Gibb - Song of the Week

The Loser Gets To Win - Carlo Imperato & Cynthia Gibb - Song of the Week

I should have known that it would be too good to last,
He took my colours and he nailed them to his mask and sailed on past.
The same thing happens to me everywhere I turn,
And if it's true that pain's the only way I'll learn, I'm learning fast.

So here we go again
Back to where we started
Nine times out of ten
We'll take it on the chin
But we don't get depressed
And we don't get down-hearted
'Cause every now and then
The loser gets to win.

'Most every time my Mr. Right has come along
My Mr. Right keeps turning in to Mr. Wrong, it's the same old song.

So here I go again
Back to where I started
Nine times out of ten
I'll take it on the chin
But I don't get depressed
No, I don't get down-hearted
'Cause every now and then
The loser gets to win.

WOh oh, I believe my ship is coming in
The loser gets to win.

So here we go again
Back to where we started
Nine times out of ten
We'll take it on the chin
But we don't get depressed
And we don't get down-hearted
'Cause we know in the end
The loser gets to win.
