Fame News

It's a short month this month as we'll be away for about 10 days mid month. So there's no real theme. It's just our normal mix of fame trivia, interviews and fan fiction.

It is the 30th anniversary of "The Kids from Fame Songs" album so we'll be celebrating that.

We will also be posting the U.K. version of the Fame Sticker Album from 1983.

Season 2 episode guide and MP3 updates will continue with "Class Act", "Teachers", "Beginnings" and "Words".

Debbie Allen will be staging a production called "Freeze Frame" at the Brisbane Festival in Australia.

Debbie Allen To Be Honored By Traditional Chinese Medicine University
For Her Advocacy Of Alternative Care
Los Angeles, CA – April 16, 2013 – Yo San University, Southern California’s premiere academic institution for Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), is presenting Debbie Allen with the Robert Graham Visionary Award on May 18, 2013. Held at Wolfgang Puck’s Spectra in the Pacific Design Center, the award recognizes Allen for her dedication to Eastern methods of health and wellness and her personal contributions to Yo San University and health in general. “They have kept me physically and spiritually healthy for the last 25 years and are doing so much for the community” explains Allen.

The event will be an intimate affair involving Yo San University supporters, Allen’s family, friends, and colleagues, and many other advocates of TCM. In addition to food and drinks, a live auction will be held, featuring a few items donated by Allen herself. All proceeds from the event will benefit Yo San University’s Community Clinic Program where free and low-cost TCM services are provided to low-income and at-risk Los Angelenos.

- MORE -

The Robert Graham Visionary Award was the inspiration of actress Anjelica Huston, artist Steven Graham, and Yo San University co-founders, Drs. Daoshing Ni and Mao Shing Ni. In honor of her late husband, Robert Graham, the award recognizes individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to wellness and healthcare in the United States or abroad. Past honorees include Robert Downey Jr., Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman, and Sela Ward.
