David Greenlee Video Link up Practice Run 3rd May 2019
I had so hoped that David Greenlee, who played Dwight, would be able to join us in the U.K. to be a special guest at the Fame Family Experience Convention. We got so close to it happening but we couldn’t quite work out the travel details to fit into David’s Schedule. So we went with the next best thing which was a video chat link up.
Neither David nor I had done this before so we had a dress
rehearsal on Friday 3rd May when we went to the Holiday Inn for a
practice link up to test out the technology.
We had initial problems setting things up but we but soon we
were connected and chatting away. After months of emails back and forth it was
great chatting to this wonderful man and hearing stories about Fame and the
cast from this unique perspective.
We’d only expected to link up for a few minutes but actually
it was best part of an hour that we chatted, which was lovely.
David said: “For years I’ve done so many conventions for “Beauty
and the Beast” and other projects that I’ve been involved in and every time I
do one I’ve wondered where is the “Fame” convention. Particularly there in the
U.K., Italy and a couple of other Countries where it was so popular. “Fame” has had this a long time coming. There
has never been one for “Fame” and I’m kind of thrilled that there is!”
The practice run gave us all great confidence about doing it
for real at the Convention. The WIFI at the Holiday Inn wasn’t perfect but we
got through it.
A huge Thank you to David Greenlee for taking part.

Designs for Valerie Landsburg's Hi Fidelity Dress.
Rob Richardson who designed the Fame U.K. Reunion T Shirts Also Designed the Artwork that was on Valerie Landsburg's "Hi Fidelity" Dress.
Here's what Rob had to Say:
I've been in love with Valerie Landsburg from the Fame TV show for about 37 years, so it was exciting and terrifying to be asked about designing a fabric print for her Fame UK Reunion 2019 dress!
The brief was to make it look like an old colouring book, and have a few panels that could be strategically positioned (dotted about).
The whole thing was a mad dash to get completed on time, and I reckon we did a pretty good job.

Fame U.K. Reunion Dancing In The Streets
On Saturday 4th May a small group of enthusiastic Fame Fans met on the steps outside Liverpool Lime Street Station to Dance in the street.
Led by Brian Mattocks and the amazing Anna Consoli who was dressed as Lydia Grant and gave us the full Debbie Allen Speech from the Pilot episode.
We had great fun creating some dance moves in various locations around Liverpool.
We were lucky with the weather as it was bright and sunny but just a little cold!
Well done to everyone who took part.
Many thanks to Antonello Carta who made this video.
