With the "Fame" TV series starting in the U.K. on 17th June 1982 RSO quickly re-released both the "Fame" single by Irene Cara and the "Fame" Movie 1980 Soundtrack and both entered the U.K. charts on 3rd July 1982. The Album at Number 35 and the Single at Number 51. I believe the single would have gone higher but the record company wasn't quite prepared for the demand. I remember searching in a number of shops to try and find it only to discover they had sold out. I think I itially a lot of people were confused thinking the Single was actually Erica Gimpel singing and that the album contained music fro9m the TV series.
