Trivia of the Week - Allysia Sneed on Fame

Fame Dancer Allysia Sneed responded to requests on Facebook for information about her time on "Fame".  Here's what she said:

"my years on MGM’s “Fame” Television Series was an incredibly marvelous experience that warms my heart to this day. From auditions for the Pilot in the winter of 1980 in NYC to the reunion show in 1987 in LA on The MGM lot. The spirit of comradery that developed and grew between the entire Cast was warm, friendly and supportive. We were like Family. The show provided everyone a unique opportunity and extraordinary vehicle to showcase our individual talent and it was hard working Fun.

8 to 16 hour days of rehearsal for the Dance production numbers and Taping of the show was grueling and Thrilling simultaneously. We got to travel to different locations like New York City and as you know even Europe all while being paid to do what we absolutely loved.
“FAME” was based on the real “Performing Arts High school in NYC. The key being High School, we all had to graduate at some point which is the probable reason behind most of us leaving the show after some years while others joined.
Most of us went on to do additional wonderful work after “Fame” and the show was a catalyst for us. I for one am grateful for the experience and opportunity to have worked with so many talented performing artists.
I thank all of the shows Fans for truly making “FAME” live forever. I Love you all. ❤️💞😇🙏🎼💃🏼"
