Tributes to Fame Executive Producer (season 1 to 3) who died last month:
Lee Curreri Said:
"I'm crushed to hear of the passing of Bill Blinn, the heart and soul of the first Fame TV Series. Besides really knowing how to tell a story, he had an impeccable sense of balance when it came to mixing elements of real life into the show over the 3 seasons he served as Executive Producer/Writer. I will miss his sense of fairness, his sense of humor, his goodness. To paraphrase a Sondheim song, who's like Bill Blinn? Damn few."
David Greenlee Said:
"Woke up to read the news that Bill Blinn had passed away. Bill was the Executive Producer of 'Fame', he was a brilliant writer, a very kind and honorable man and the day I met him was one of the most fortunate days of my life."
Cynthia Gibb Said:
"Bravo, Bill. You had an amazing impact on society for decades. So grateful that he gave me the opportunity to be a part of his magnificent show. So sad to lose him. He surely knew how to tell a story from a very human point of view.We need voices like his, thoughtful and empathetic, especially now.I was a fan before I knew him. Never missed an episode of 8 is Enough, and watched Roots from start to finish. I was blessed to work and learn from him. Thank you, Bill Blinn."
Jesse Borrego Said:
"May he Rest in Peace...he Gave me my 1st shot on FAME...and I will Always b grateful
. You will LIVE Forever! And PURPLE RAIN! Rest in Peace Maestro! Great Writer Producer
Life long Fame Fan Stephen Nachamie, who used to visit the Fame location shoots in New York City, shared a project he has been working. The video features Fame dancer Christophe Cabellero and Choreography is by Fame dancer Shaun Earl. Stephen said about the project:
"Sending you all love. I wanted to share this video that I conceived with the songwriter and choreographer, I directed it all remotely (a lot of planning, meetings and careful shot lists that everyone's partner or roommate could understand help film.)
The songwriter is Sylvia MacCalla (RENT), the choreographer is Shaun Earl (RENT and TV's Fame ).
The dancers are in Harlem, outside of Nashville, in DC and the the dancer inside was also on FAME - and lives on the Upper East Side.
This was a labor of love. I am still blown away and in wonder at what we can do remotely - it was an unexpected joy to edit all this footage at home.
I had an ugly cry when I got the last section in place. We have all been robbed of our lives and contact and loved ones this year. The live arts industry is decimated, but for the first time in a long time, I had an intense collaboration from start to finish and I really found myself in mourning for losing my world and our world this year.... So... Don't stand still. VOTE!
Please share this – hoping it will lift many in this week.
Much love
STEPHEN"
PR Paul says:
