On 20th April Erica Gimpel Announced that her current TV series "God Friended Me" has not been renewed for a 3rd season.

"Dearest Family and Friends
This past Tuesday it was announced that our precious show GFM will not be returning for season 3. Honestly this news was a blow, and it took me a few days to sit with what I wanted to share and say.
There are moments in life when you feel the presence of magic, when artists come together to create a show with a beautiful message for the world. And living in today’s harsh world, it was deeply meaningful for me to be part of a show that affirmed a belief in the basic goodness of people and our common humanity. The storylines of GFM served as beautiful reminders of what is possible when people care for each other and go out of their way for one another.

It was wonderful working with such committed, passionate, creative and kind people in front of the camera as well as behind. This show will be a treasured memory, one I will cherish and be proud to have been a part of.

I also want to thank everyone who reached out via IG and Twitter. It has been extremely heartwarming to read people’s love for the show and how it’s message (will be deeply missed. One person even started a petition to save the show which is a clear testament of how much GFM touched people’s hearts💜

Luckily we have 3 more shows left and on April 26 we will have our 2 hour finale which our incredible creator/producers have put their entire beings into making it a memorable, heartwarming, and uplifting end to this incredible one of a kind show! I hope you will celebrate with us!

Also, I will be posting behind the scenes photos everyday until the finale, to celebrate the journey and all the people who made this so special!

May everyone stay safe, healthy, creative and empowered! I look forward to working together again with these beautiful artists in the very near future! Peace, Erica💜"

A petition is currently running to try to get CBS to change their minds.
