Lydia arranges for one of her dancers Kathy Murphy to try out for a dance troupe and asks Bruno to compose some music for her to dance to.
Bruno agrees and as the two start working together they start to fall in love.
But Kathy has a secret. She has multiple sclerosis and will never achieve her dream of being a dancer.
After an accident the truth comes out and it falls to Shorofsky to tell Kathy she has to leave the school.
Doris accidentally hears the recording of the faculty meeting and discovers the truth.
Leroy is then brought in as a replacement for the dance troupe but he pretends to sprain his ankle so he can't audition.
Meanwhile Crandall has a problem with Danny and Julie in the drama class.
and Miss Sherwood tries to help. However at first neither realises the problem untoil Shorofsky points it out.
Julie is taller than Danny
and neither feel comfortable doing a love scene together until a ramp is built!
At the end Kathy gets to stay in school and audition for the dance troupe but Bruno realises their relationship is over.
