The Kids From Fame Songs Album 1983 - 30 year Anniversary


"The Kids From Fame Songs" was the fourth album to be released by the cast of the U.S. TV series "FAME". It was released in the U.K. on LP (KIDLP 004) and Cassette (KIDK 004) in May 1983, licensed to BBC records from RCA music. It entered the U.K. charts at number 14 on 12th May 1983, which was it's highest position. Over the course of the next 4 months it spent 16 weeks on the U.K. charts.

The album was produced by Barry Fasman for The Entertainment Company. Executive producers were Charles Koppelman & Martin Bandier.  Lead Vocals were by Debbie Allen, Lee Curreri, Erica Gimpel, Albert Hague, Carlo Imperato, Valerie Landsburg and Gene Anthony Ray. As with the first Fame album many of the songs including "Songs", "Lay Back and Be Cool" "Dancing Endlessly", "Beautiful Dreamer", "Be Your Own Hero" and "Just Like You" had already been recorded and released by their writers.
